M-Audio MicroTrack 24/96 floor noise analysis
This is an analysis of jboyzh's MicroTrack 24/96. This is an analysis of recorded silence, no microphones plugged in.
All metering on the lowest level except where noted otherwise.
The graphs show a basis frequency analysis in Adobe Audition. Blue is left channel, purple is right channel.
Some things worth mentioning:
- there's a weird 'wavering' noise floor on the left channel when using 1/4" TRS
- this wavering is completely gone using the "L" level on a 24/96 recording
- the 1/8" TRS has a much flatter noise floor
- the 'metering' setting has influence on the noise level
- the backlight does not seem to have any effect on the noise levels
- the 1/4" TRS input has minor peaks:
- 16-bit: 6681 Hz and 20040 Hz
- 24-bit: 6694 Hz, 200074 Hz, 33567 Hz and 47837 Hz (intervals of 13380 Hz)
- on the 1/8" TRS input there's only one slight peak on the left channel, around 33450 Hz
